What is Karma Street?
Karma Street is an online database created by its users for the purpose of exposing both the great and the ugly of those among us.
Is Karma Street free?
Yes.
Am I required to become a member in order to use Karma Street?
No. In order to search for a profile, click Search. In order to create a profile or embellish an existing profile, you must enter a password and provide your email address, which will be held confidentially. This information will only be used if you decide to edit a post that you previously created.
What is a profile?
A profile is a user-created page that reveals information about a person or entity and thus makes visible the true karma of that person or entity. You may create a profile, embellish an existing profile, or simply view a profile.
What type of content is displayed on a profile?
Profiles feature information about people or entities such as someone's professional and financial record, contact information, family background, relationship status and history, political views, defining characteristics, deeds worthy of praise, untold affairs, unknown lawsuits, and other karmic events that users choose to reveal. Profiles may also incorporate photographs.
What is a post?
A post is content that users write or upload onto a profile such as text or a photograph. Profiles may contain an unlimited number of posts.
How do I search for a profile?
Click Search. You may perform a simple search by entering the name of the person or entity for whom you are searching, or you may perform an advanced search by entering a variety of criteria such as someone's location, age, gender, relationship status, etc.
How do I create a profile or post on an existing profile?
To create a profile, click Create Profile. After entering the name of the person or entity for whom you wish to create a profile, you may post content on a primarily blank profile. In order for the content to be broadcasted, you will need to enter a password, provide your email address, and agree to and abide by the Terms of Use. To post on an existing profile, open the profile and click "post more" in the category of the profile that you wish to embellish.
How does the Karma Meter work?
The Karma Meter counts the number of good and bad karma posts and creates a scale from 1 - 100 using that information. 100 = great karma and 0 = terrible karma.
What is the Top Ten List?
The Top Ten List is created by the Karma Meter to publicize those with the best or worst karma.
Are profiles limited to people?
No. You may create, elaborate on, or search for a profile for any entity, including but not limited to businesses, movies, consumer products, bands, cars, sports teams, hotels, etc.
Are there any restrictions regarding who may create or post on a profile?
There are no limitations as long as the user agrees to and abides by the Terms of Use.
Are there any restrictions regarding content that may be posted on a profile?
There are no limitations as long as the user agrees to and abides by the Terms of Use. In addition to text, we encourage users to post photographs.
Are there any restrictions regarding who may view a profile?
No.
Are the posts made by Karma Street users anonymous?
Users may elect to post anonymously or openly.
How can I respond to a post?
You may respond to a post by developing a new post or by contacting the original poster. You may contact the original poster only if the user posted openly and he or she included contact information.
Is the content posted on Karma Street 100% accurate?
All Karma Street users must accept and abide by the Terms of Use, which stipulate that all posted content must not be defamatory, libelous, inaccurate, false, invasive of privacy, misleading, harassing, abusive, untrue, threatening, illegal, etc. However, Karma Street is not responsible for, nor does it guarantee the accuracy of, the content posted on any profile. Users are solely responsible for the content that he or she posts.
What if I'm unhappy with something that a user posted?
You may add your own post in order counter someone's previous post.
How long will my post last?
Unless you delete your post, it will last forever.
How is content deleted?
In order to delete something that you previously posted, you must enter the email address and password that you entered when you made the original post. You may not delete a post created by another user.
Does Karma Street screen posted content?
Karma Street reserves the right to screen and delete posted content but does not guarantee that it does so.
